I always, always judge my books by their characters and, ergo their dialogue. The plot, the setting, the genre, everything else is important, but I've read lots of books with failing plots but awesome characters which made the book an amazing read. The same is the case with TSOTG - the plot wasn't too interesting after the other books in the NH series, but the characters were simply enthralling. I love love love love love LOVE Cat, Bones, Mencheres, Marie, Fabian, Ian, Spade, and the main delight of this book: VLAD. It doesn't matter to me that the plot wasn't as good as was expected from a book featuring Cat & Bones, but I love the characters, so the rest felt more like a footnote than an actual part of the book. I can't wait to read OGaaT; hopefully, it'll be more up to par with what everyone's come to expect from Frost.
