Last Sacrifice starts with Rose freaking out in a cell until it's gatecrashed (literally) by our heroes and other criminals supporting characters. And from then on, it's just one roller-coaster ride right after the other. Kidnapping, murder, sex, drama, drugs, intrigue, romance, pain, it's all in here and more. And there are plot twists till the very last page. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Mead would throw the characters in another loophole and on and on. I couldn't have been more pleased.
And while the plot was epic, the most captivating thing about this book, and series as a whole, is Rose. She's grown so so much and developed into the type of woman that is inspiring as well as total badass. I can't believe how well she handled the situation with Dimitri and Adrian. With anyone else, I would have thought it too typical or cliched or unoriginal, but Rose carried it out so naturally and realistically, that it puts all other love-triangles, and heroines, to shame.
And Dimitri is now most favorite hero ever, not only because of how hot-amazing-divine-badass-sexy he is, but because he and Rose are so perfect for each other. With any other couple, the whole soulmate thing, souls being in sync, reading each other's thoughts, etc. argument would have been laughable, but with these two, I really think it fit. I could actually feel the love and understanding they had for one another. It was like a fact, even, like how it was a fact that Tatiana was dead.
And yayayayay for more Abe and Janine. They're the best parents ever, lol. Lots of other side characters were also lovable, and I finally got over my Lissa hatred and I can full say I understand why girls love Christian so much. And I'm totally shipping AdiranxJill now. Or JillxEddie. Whichever character turns out to be more sexy. Or maybe it'll be another triangle with all three? Who knows, but I'm definitely dieing to find out.
All good things come to an end, and all that, so I'm not too sad with VA ending, especially because I know Lissa's going to play an important role if Jill's one of the main characters in the spin-off series, Bloodlines, and where there's Lissa, Rose and Dimitri are bound to show up. All in all, this is the best happily ever after ending ever I have ever come across in any of the series I've read.
